Featuring Welcome to Country by Larrakia Nation, official speeches by Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture Lauren Moss and Bruce Munro followed by a contemporary dance piece by some exceptional local performers, directed by Jess Devereux. With mesmerising fibre-optic props, the performance captures the beauty and colour, intensity and drama of Darwin’s seasonal changes, with an original sound score by Skinnyfish Music.
What happens next:
We want you to have the best experience at the exhibition and enjoy your own space and time at each of the sculpture locations. When you arrive at the opening event, you will be allocated a wristband with a start time to begin your self guided walk around the tour. Groups of up to 30 will set off every 10 minutes from 7:30pm.
Tropical Light has a free audio app which guides you around the exhibition. You will hear stories from Bruce Munro, the Darwin artists and Larrakia Nation as they explain the works and their connection to Darwin and the tropical summer. The audio link will be sent via your Eventbrite registration on the 31st of October.
Food and drink stalls will be operating from 5:30pm.
Don't forget to bring your camera as there will be lots of opportunities to take everlasting memories on the night.
